Steve Dunner
Pop Pop the Magic Clown

Steve Dunner is native New Yorker who has been fortunate enough to have had three careers, as a chef at the Barbazon Plaza Hotel in New York, a Newspaper Designer for the Washington Post and as a Graphics Manager for Keystone Mercy Health Plan/ Astra Zeneca, from which he retired. He is a graduate of the Rochester Institute of Technology holding degrees in Printing Management, Graphic Arts, Graphic Arts and Photography with specialties in typographic and newspaper design.

Having lived in Delaware since 1975, Steve raised two girls. It was during the years of raising his children that he first delved into clowning at parties for the girls. However, he became intensely involved in entertaining children when his

After her death he first became a volunteer at the A I Dupont Hospital for children and later a member of the organization known as “Caring Clowns” which provides clowns for area hospitals. He actively does clown volunteer work for a variety of cancer organizations.

In 2004 when his company downsized, Steve decided to take early retirements and seek out that which he enjoyed the most, mainly working with children. He then became a substitute teacher for the Red Clay, Christina and Colonial School District. After taking clown courses he became a clown magician specializing in face painting, magic and balloon making. His instructors were previously with Ringling Bros. Barnum and Bailey Circus.

Steve has been "background aproved" through the FBI, Delaware State Police and Pennsylvania State Police. He is a member of Clowns of America International, The Mid Atlantic Clown Association and The World Clown Association.
