Tips for Having a Great
Birthday Party
with Pop Pop!

1. The average birthday party lasts approximately 2 ½ hours as this is the attention span of most children for such events.

2. A typical birthday party has 10-15 children, Larger groups are harder to manage.

3. The host should receive approvals from parents for face painting and balloons. Pop Pop cares for your children and uses the highest quality water soluble, non-toxic, hypoallergenic paints; however, some parents might not care for face painting. With regard to balloons, a small percentage of children have latex allergies and Pop Pop always has concern that someone monitor the children to be certain balloons are not put in mouths of the young ones.

4. Pop Pop The Magic Clown arrives early to the birthday party to set up his magic. Pop Pop The Magic Clown starts the event with face painting as the children arrive. Be sure your guests arrive on time. After face painting Pop Pop The Magic Clown does his magic show then takes a few minutes to put his equipment away. This is planned as it is the perfect time to sing happy birthday and have the cake. Following the cake Pop Pop The Magic Clown finishes with balloon animals.

5. Set the room temperature cooler than usual. A room full of children will increase the room temperature and can make some kids sleepy.

6. Please turn off any TV’s, radios etc., during the show. If there are adults in the room talking to one another during the birthday party, perhaps they can move to another room.

7. Pre-light the candles, they will re-light easier. Have your matches or lighter near the birthday cake in advance to avoid looking for them.

8. Ready, action! Where’s the camera? Check your batteries and film supply and be sure to capture those party moments during the show. Don’t forget to get a picture with Pop Pop and of the cake.

9. Have a cleared area for the kids to sit at least five feet from the magic show. Pop Pop needs space for a podium and small table for setting his magic on. An area is also needed for face painting which includes a small table and two chairs.

10. Please remove pets from the magic show area as they can be a distraction.

11. Put some balloons on the mailbox or door so guests can find your home easily. Written directions go great with the birthday invitations.
